Kelly serves on the boards of various community organizations and is actively involved with the Durham Region Law Association where she is on the board of directors and is editor of the association’s Newsletter, the DURLAW Voice, as well as editor of the association’s Monthly Business Report. She is on various committees within the association such as finance and human resources.
Kelly is in her third year as a director of the Lakeridge Health Foundation and is currently Chair of its Governance and Nominating Committee. In this role Kelly has gained extensive experience in non-profit organizations and their governance, corporate structure and the by-laws that can govern such organizations.
The Ontario Justice Education Network works to strengthen public understanding of the legal system. Kelly serves on the local committee of the Superior Court of Justice and Ontario Court of Justice assisting with the development of programs for high school law students in collaboration with Durham College. She has aided teachers by speaking in law courses in high schools and has assisted with coordinating and teaching professional development programs for high school law teachers.
