Laurie was born and raised in Oshawa. She left Canada for several years to pursue her education in the United States. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College in 1997 and her Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2000.

Laurie was called to the Bar in California in 2000 and in Ontario in 2003. She has a wide range of practice areas and currently focuses on real estate, mortgages, wills & estates, immigration (including U.S. waivers), and advises on corporate commercial matters, including incorporations and the buying & selling of businesses. She also provides immigration services for Canadians seeking work visas and waivers for entry to the United States.

Laurie also has extensive experience in Ontario’s courts and tribunals.
She remains an active member of the American Bar Association as well as the Ontario Bar.
